The elliptical workout

Many people are always looking for new and exciting ways to workout. The elliptical is a great way to workout, and a good alternative to running for multiple reasons.

First, the elliptical is very easy on joints and bones. If you are someone who starts to have aches in your knees or your angles after a run, you should give the elliptical a try. The elliptical uses continuous motion instead of the motion of your feet slamming against pavement every step. This continuous motion is much better for your joints and bones.

The elliptical workout also provides a full body workout. It forces you to use your upper body almost as much as your lower body. This full body workout can give you really good results when it comes to burning calories. Also, the full body workout will strengthen many more of your muscles than a run will.

One of the downsides to the elliptical workout is that you need to find an elliptical first. The good news is that they are coming down in price if you are looking to buy one. Also, pretty much every gym that you would join would have a good selection of ellipticals.

If you are looking to buy an elliptical, there are a few main things to look for. The first is the amount of resistance the elliptical can provide. If you are a hard-core runner, you may need an elliptical than provide a bit more resistance than the average person. Another thing to look for is the stride length. You are going to want to get one that fits you and your height. Most trainers recommend getting at least a stride length of 17 inches unless you are shorter than 5’3”. Last, you want to make sure you read the reviews before you buy to make sure you are buying a reputable and durable brand.

As with every workout, make sure you consult a doctor before doing any strenuous exercise if you feel you need to.
